The WAC has changed. From its early aim of raising awareness, the WAC is now a global effort of civil society to shift policy, mobilize resources, and call for action on the ground.
Governments, organizations and individuals worldwide have made ambitious commitments to fight HIV and AIDS. Yet we continue to face new epidemics in a number of countries, a growing death toll in areas where the epidemic is well established and massive social and economic costs in the most affected areas. Now, more than ever, we must ensure that everyone feels responsible for shaping the AIDS response and making sure past commitments are honoured. |
